Astr0Nick (pictured with Neil deGrasse Tyson) is amateur astronomer, social media personality and educator who specializes in the basics of astronomy. Beginning in 1995, Astr0Nick fell in love with night sky at the age of 10, received his first telescope and has been learning the heavens ever since! In 2015 Astr0Nick attended special astronomy classes taught by world renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and well respected astronomer Chris Impey from the University of Arizona. In 2019 Astr0Nick was selected by NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to be a Solar System Ambassador, a volunteer program to help bring Space, science and NASA closer to the public. Astr0Nick is also an astrophotographer and loves taking photos of the planets, galaxies and nebulae.
In 2017 Astr0Nick set his mission to engage people in the subject of astronomy and spread factual and fascinating information. Since then Astr0Nick has taken over social media on Facebook and Instagram with over 15,000 followers. He continues to grow his mission to spread astronomy through Podcasts, YouTube, Social Media and hosting public events, now located in the Central Florida area!
Astr0Nick spent time with an experienced astronomer and photographer at a private observatory in Northern Arizona and learned how to shoot the Milky Way, the night sky, galaxies, nebulae, planets and star clusters. Astr0Nick gained hands on experience using a DSLR camera and utilizing 4 different telescopes! Still learning and growing, Astr0Nick loves taking night sky photos all over the US!
Astr0Nick was selected by NASA and the JPL to take part as a Solar System Ambassador. Astr0Nick participated in events in NYC with telescopes as well as deliver information and participate in STEM events which featured live Q&A with Astronauts on the ISS and former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino. Furthermore, Astr0Nick is a self described Space Explorer as a Member of the Planetary Society (pictured with Planetary Society CEO Bill Nye) and a Dark Sky Advocate by partnering with the International Dark-Sky Society. Astr0Nick is currently working with the local government in his community to reduce light pollution.
